~ABOUT~
Jen is a premier makeup artist well established throughout the state of Texas. Her makeup skills have beautified faces in the fashion, beauty, commercial, and bridal industry for over 16 years. Sought after for her true color instincts and artistry techniques, Jen's makeup talents have landed her in local and national publications such as Women's Day Magazine, Texas Monthly, Spa Magazine, and Makeup Artist Magazine, to name a few. Valued and trusted among her clients and peers, Jen offers a fun loving and kind hearted approach to each new face, always allowing her client's voice to be heard.
She has worked with celebrities such as J.J. Watt and Case Keenum, Jenna Ushkowitz, Amber Riley, and Chris Colfer of Fox's Glee series, Academy Award nominee Eric Roberts, musicians such as rap artist Paul Wall and Ian Crawford of Panic! at the Disco, Olympic Gold medalists Keri Strugg and Svetlana Boginskaya, as well as contributing to the wedding of Dominique Moceanu.
Thanks to her fine art backgroud and early love of everything makeup, Jen is primarily a self-taught makeup artist, tapping in to her formal training of color theory and blending techniques acquired during her time in art school. Jen has also obtained additional training in all aspects of makeup artistry including makeup in Print, Film, Commercial, Video, Runway, Catalog, and Special FX. Her true passion lies in working with Fashion Editorials and tapping in to her creativity in exploring the latest makeup trends and runway looks.
Jen is also a certified airbrush artist, offering the latest technique for high-definition makeup application.
~BACKGROUND~
Jen studied both Fine Art and Studio Art at The Art Institute of Houston and Stephen F. Austin State University. While pursuing her art degree, Jen began working with prestigious makeup lines such as Prescriptives and Lancome in early 2000. By 2004, she was now working in a high-end luxury day spa. That same year, Jen became the National Artist and Educator for Franche Mineral Cosmetics. She began traveling nationwide to luxury salons and exclusive celebrity day spas, making special appearances and educating clients on proper makeup application for every skin color and face shape.
By 2008, Jen decided to step out on her own and become a full time Freelance Makeup Artist in the Houston, TX area. Since then she has received ongoing makeup education at Cinema Makeup School in Hollywood, CA, as well as certified training with Dinair Airbrush Systems in Burbank, CA. She has also trained formally with well known celebrity makeup artists Orlando Santiago and Scott Barnes.
~PERSONAL~
Jen maintains her faith and spirituality as number one in her life. She is an avid contributor to animal advocacy, owning five rescue animals of her own and always stopping to help a stray animal in need. A lover of Mexican food, patio lunches, and Texas Hill country outings, Jen is a native Houstonian born and raised.
When she is not found working on set, beautifying a bride, or in a client's personal home, Jen can be found spending her downtime with her husband Daniel and their newborn son Collin. And not to forget, her five rescue fur babies--three dogs...Paxton, Touey, and Lizzy Lou, and her two crazy kitties Anabell and Clarabell.
